metaCHANNEL

The channel configurator is used for the simple and consistent creation of MS Teams channels, based on document sets. These document sets are used to enable partially automated metadata tagging.

Replicate structures

The channel configurator, metaCHANNEL, is used for the simple and standardized creation of channels within an entity in MS Teams. Once rolled out, it is available by default in every "General" channel of an MS Teams and can be added as a tab. The creation of channels is simplified by metaCHANNEL, which creates the channel in the background as a document set after entering metadata information. This entered information is stored globally in the SharePoint-wide term store, and retrieved from there. This ensures that no duplicate terms with different spellings are entered (e.g. SharePoint & Sharepoint or WebPart & Webparts etc.).

MetaCHANNEL fits seamlessly into the metaSYN concept, which aims to create a digital twin, based on a company's organizational and functional structure within the framework of SharePoint and MS Teams. By attaching metadata when creating a channel via metaCHANNEL, semi-automatic metadata data tagging will be realized. As a result, files in the channels are tagged automatically with the corresponding "location metadata".

Consequently, the files are automatically provided with information about where they are located, i.e., in which channel and in which team they are located and how this team fits into the organizational structure. This individual partial automation leads to a considerable simplification in the maintenance of metadata, which directly impacts work performance. In addition, the search function in SharePoint is considerably more precise.
